Entering Mentoring Facilitator Training

Quality mentoring is an important factor in the success of researchers across all disciplines and career stages—and you can contribute to a positive research mentorship culture on campus!

This workshop will prepare you to offer research mentor training using the evidence-based Entering Mentoring curriculum. Training using this curriculum has been shown to strengthen research mentoring relationships with diverse mentees.

During this one-day, in-person workshop, participants will gain the knowledge, confidence, and facilitation skills needed to implement mentor training broadly at UW–Madison or for their own departments or programs.

Participants will:

  • Become familiar with the breadth of the Entering Mentoring curriculum
  • Practice facilitating activities
  • Develop a plan for implementing what they learned

This workshop supports facilitators offering sections through WISCIENCE and Delta, and is available for faculty, instructors, staff, or administrators who are committed to implementing research mentor training workshops based upon Entering Mentoring in their programs or departments.
