STEM Student Support

For STEM Students

Accountability Groups

Make it easier to stay on track by joining an Accountability Group! In weekly small group meetings, students combine individual work time with social support and collaboration in order to stick to their goals, share with other students, and have fun.

Peer Leaders

The WISCIENCE Peer Leader program trains undergraduate students to support their peers in WISCIENCE programs and courses. Peer Leaders receive training in leadership and communication skills and have opportunities for hands-on leadership experience.

STEM Immersion

BioHouse Learning Community

A residential learning community for first-year students interested in the biological sciences. As a co-sponsor of BioHouse, WISCIENCE is excited to offer this unique opportunity for students to get the most out of their Wisconsin Experience.

Several BioHouse residents stand in front of the UW–Health med flight helicopter.

Undergraduate Courses

In WISCIENCE courses, you can develop the knowledge and skills to be successful and confident in STEM fields. Immerse yourself in professional development and hands-on learning in community engagement, leadership, and research.

For Transfer STEM Students

Transfer STEM Immersion

An immersive learning community for incoming transfer students interested in science, technology, engineering, math, or medicine disciplines. This program can help create a less stressful—and more successful—transition to UW–Madison.

Several transfer students holding paper and pen mingle as they ask each other questions about themselves.

STEM Transfer Mentor Network

A fun, flexible way to start finding your place at UW–Madison. With group activities and one-on-one support, connect with other transfer students, get guidance from peer mentors, and learn about being involved in STEM on campus.
