Nancy Ruggeri

Dr. Nancy Ruggeri joined WISCIENCE as Director of Research Mentor and Mentee Education in 2023. She has been in educational development for over twenty years helping faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and instructors create inclusive learning environments in higher education. She received her Ph.D in Curriculum & Instruction (in science education) as well as her MS in biological anthropology (in primate behavioral ecology) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has extensive experience leading professional development initiatives, having served as Director of Graduate and Postdoctoral Learning at Northwestern University (2012-2022) and as a Faculty Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2010-2012). Prior to this, she coordinated a large introductory biology sequence at UW-Madison as a Faculty Associate in the Department of Zoology (1997-2005). Dr. Ruggeri has prioritized equitable practices in her work and is passionate about improving student success in STEM.
