In this hands-on workshop, take a trip to the Center for Limnology to watch scientists collect an environmental sample using ice hole drilling, then look at the sample under a microscope. Learn to identify common microorganisms found in water and how to properly collect, prepare, and mount samples for viewing. We’ll also talk about the roles different scientists play in understanding the biology and ecology of water systems like our beloved lakes.
