Sticker Theme: Science for Sustainability
We invite you to explore how scientific innovations and principles can lead to a more sustainable future. What are some creative ways you can you portray science’s role in solving real-world problems and contributing to a better world?
Here are a few topics to jumpstart your ideas. This is not a complete list—you could look to UW–Madison’s new sustainability initiative or other sources for more inspiration.
- Agriculture and food
- Buildings and infrastructure
- Conservation and ecology
- Energy and emissions
- Social and cultural topics
- Transportation
- Waste reduction
- Water issues
Criteria
We are looking for designs that fit within the theme and that are original, creative, and fun. The winning design(s) must be able to easily translate into a sticker format, which may be smaller than your original submission.
Your design should include the word “WISCIENCE” or have space to add the WISCIENCE logo (for examples of how to do this, see last year’s winners).
Submissions will be evaluated based on artistic quality, creativity, interpretation of the theme, and suitability for WISCIENCE (see rubric).
Judging
Our judging panel is comprised of WISCIENCE staff and partners, undergrad students, and grad students. The judges will select the winning sticker(s) based on the evaluation criteria above. Depending on the submissions we receive, there may be more than one winning design.
