If you could choose anyone to be a mentor to you, who would it be?
Tareen Mohiba Khan (dermatologist in the Twin Cities who is known for her women-run clinic).
What is your favorite place on campus?
Memorial Union.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
UHS, CLC, AMSA, Wisconsin Pre-Medical Society.
What do you like most about Madison?
Finding community, whether it be through clubs, school, dorms, etc. Making and meeting new people has always been very enjoyable for me.
What are your favorite snacks for a study session?
Clif Bars, Goldfish.
If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would be a flamingo because not only are they a beautiful vibrant color, but they can also sleep anywhere while balancing on one leg and that’s awesome.
What is your hidden talent?
I can vibrate my eyes.
What is an academic accomplishment that you are proud of?
Definitely pushing through my first year of dual enrollment and getting a 4.0 at my community college. That took a LOT of effort for being my first time experiencing college-level courses.
What are you looking forward to about being a peer leader this semester?
Learning how to communicate and lead presentations and discussions. I still get a little nervous when speaking in front of large groups, so I would like to work on that.
What sparked your interest in STEM?
My father! He is a doctor and so I grew up hearing lots of stories about his patients and what his everyday life would look like at work. His job is hard but it seems incredibly fulfilling, which is the greatest reward you could get out of your career.
What is your vision for life after graduation?
I plan to apply to med school and far, far down the road I hope to become a dermatologist.
