Who is STEM Immersion for?
STEM Immersion welcomes and prepares first-year undergraduates and returning students for success at UW–Madison through cultivating a STEM-focused community and continual learning environment.
What will STEM Immersion do for me?
-
- Encourage excitement about the breadth of STEM majors and opportunities
- Create an environment of intentional opportunities for students to interact with peers as well as faculty, staff members, graduate students, and the greater UW-Madison community
- Introduce students to the learning and development opportunities that will occur throughout the collegiate experience
- Welcome and serve populations of students who traditionally struggle with the transition to college (e.g., first-generation students and those from underrepresented groups)
- Encourage academic and social collaboration among diverse STEM colleagues
