What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I am currently the Treasurer for Alpha Omega Epsilon, a sorority dedicated to uplifting women and underrepresented genders in STEM.
I am also a member of the Undergraduate Symposium Advisor Board. I currently also work in the Friedrich Lab in the Department of Pathobiological Sciences, and I am a Children’s Advocate for DAIS.
What do you like most about Madison?
My favorite part of Madison is the city! There are so many things to do, and the architecture around campus and down State Street is beautiful.
What are your favorite snacks for a study session?
Alani energy drinks and smart pop white cheddar popcorn!
What is an academic accomplishment that you are proud of?
I am incredibly proud of presenting my research at the Undergraduate Symposium last spring!
What sparked your interest in STEM?
I’ve always been interested in understanding how the phenomena in the world around me works. My parents got me a chemistry kit when I was 5 or 6, and I’ve known I wanted to go into STEM since then.
What is your vision for life after graduation?
I hope to attend medical school!
What advice would you give a friend considering becoming a peer leader?
I would advise a friend considering becoming a peer leader to absolutely try peer leadership, because it is an incredibly rewarding experience.
What have you learned through your experience of being a peer leader?
I have learned a lot about how to be an effective leader, as well as how to become a better communicator and delegator.
