Digital Media Center

The creation of the Digital Media Center (DMC) in 1996 was a collaboration between WISCIENCE (then known as the Institute for Biology Education), the Biotechnology Center, and the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). The Digital Media Center provided free resources to UW‐Madison faculty, staff & graduate students for university‐related projects, including equipment for loan, production services, multimedia consultation services, 3D scanning, and free access to a multimedia classroom. WISCIENCE provided funding for part of the salary of the Director of the DMC, who worked closely with Institute staff on instructional technology initiatives relating to the biosciences. The DMC was closed in 2015 after massive state budget cuts to the university.
