Academic Technology Initiatives

WISCIENCE has been a regular collaborator and initiator in projects to create new learning technology tools and help science educators at UW–Madison take advantage of them. Examples include: the creation of the Digital Media Center (with DoIT); the creation of the online biological sciences course guide; participation in the campus Moodle Council and ComETS; developing a program to provide three-dimensional printing services for printing biological structures (with DoIT); the creation of Feedback Manager, a tool to allow instructors to give student feedback more easily and efficiently (with CALS and the College of Engineering); projects to examine faculty and student use of the National Science Digital Library; collaboration on a Teaching with Technology course (Delta/CIRTL); and the creation of an iPod app Key to Wisconsin Woody Plants.
