Molecular and Environmental Toxicology Center, Community Outreach and Education Program

For five years (1998‐2003), the UW‐Madison campus had a National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences Center. The NIEHS Center’s outreach program was managed by staff from WISCIENCE (then known as the Center for Biology Education) with direct funding from the METC Center totaling $200,000 over the five years. This relationship enabled WISCIENCE to partner with other NIEHS Centers in funding outreach programs and activities in environmental health science. Two awards totaling some $176,000 were received by UW‐Madison from the Science Education Partnership Award program of NIH to fund collaborative outreach and education programs related to the research themes of the Environmental Health Sciences Center.
